What makes ours different?

In 2009, we opened a brick-and-mortar sporting goods store in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. Beyond just selling traditional sporting equipment, we also offered active shooter kits to law enforcement agencies across the country. This eventually led us to expand into a wide range of survival gear and equipment.

Our customers ranged from hikers and campers to mountain climbers, preppers, RV enthusiasts, police, and firefighters. We even consulted with and built complete survival kits for Verizon Wireless' Rocky Mountain field crews, including equipment for their helicopters and vehicles.

The store was founded by Robert "Bo" Bowman, a retired law enforcement officer who grew up as an avid outdoorsman in the Colorado mountains. Bo had experience as a Dive Safety Officer for the Frederick/Firestone Fire Department, and had also served 8 years in the Navy Seabees.

Inspired by his firsthand knowledge of Colorado's harsh winters, Bo began designing his own survival kits for his personal backpacks and vehicles in 2009, recognizing the critical importance of being prepared. This led him to create the Extreme Wilderness Kits™ line, which broke down essential survival gear into specialized kits covering heat, water, food, first aid, and tools.

Each kit was designed with higher-quality, more durable components than typical space-saving survival kits, with detailed instructions to make them easy to use. We're confident in the quality of our products and believe that investing in reliable survival gear can truly be a matter of life and death.
